A Midsummerpuppet Night’s Dream is in it’s final weekend at the Cottage Theatre. This is a great show, and it you haven’t seen it yet, get those tickets now!
This weekend, head down to the WOE Fairgrounds for the Cottage Grove Heritage Fair & Timber Show! There will be games, food, exhibits, a hay rodeo, a logging competition, livestock competitions, live entertainment and pony rides! The fair is open on Friday, August 19 & Saturday, August 20 from 10am-11pm, and Sunday, August 21 from 12pm-6pm.
The Village Green is hosting the Park Pour on Saturday, August 20 from 6:30-9:30pm. The event will include food, drinks and music by JSQ (this is the jazz quartet that David plays saxophone for). This is a benefit for Bohemia Park and admission is a $50 donation per person (this includes food, wine & beer at the event!).
The Village Green is also hosting the Cottage Grove Concours d’Elegance on Sunday, August 21 from 9am-4:30pm. You will be able to see antique, classic and contemporary cars, and also enjoy entertainment (including the JSQ again!), prize drawings, food and drinks. There is a $5 admission fee (children under 6 are free), and the South Valley Rotary will be donating the proceeds to the Cottage Grove Boys and Girls Club and the Children’s Playground at Bohemia Park. I will be there starting at 6:30am to take pictures of the cars as they drive in, and then will continue to take pictures of the event, so stop by and say hi if you see me!
If you need something to do next week, do your produce shopping at the Grower’s Market at Coiner Park from 4-8pm and check out the Concert in the Park to hear Breakers Yardstarting at 6:30.
And if you need to escape from the heat, don’t forget to check out all of the great weekly events for kids of all ages at the Cottage Grove Public Library. From story time, to sing-alongs, to movies, they’ve got something for everyone.
